The closest we can get to Allah in this Dunya is in Salah, particularly in prostration. We lower our knees and forehead to the earth, to the dirt the lowest of all elements. Not only does it instill humility in the depths of our souls but it also reminds us where we are from.
We have been created from the earth, born in the wombs of our mothers, taking the journey of life and soon to taste death, returning us to the depths of the earth. Whereupon reality will become crystal clear…

wow ut i think he should not have give him shahada so fast and maybe give him more information. seem too rushes but the owner was very calm mashallah allah give us this strength if were hit with a situation. look at how confident he is and how broken down the robber was
I agree with both of you. Even I think the shahadah was too quick, but Allahu 'Alam what was in the man (robber)'s heart, inshaAllah it was sincere... May Allah ta'ala make way for this new brother of our and make him a good mu'min.

Subhanallah, It made me laugh in disbelief. If it was me defending my store, I would be so cinical of the robber, I'd think he was making fun of Islam. But isn't there that incident in the Prophet's time, a man said the shahada in a battle before a Sahaba was about to kill him, but the Sahaba still killed him, and then the Prophet (saw) expressed that we are not to judge what is in someones heart. Forgive me, I have a weak memory. But the memory of that hadith, it's cheesy, but it makes me so so so happy in relation to this. May Allah grant both Muslims with ease and comfort in this life and the hereafter. Essay over. :) (baby with me at keyboard, excuse any nonsense)
