Knowledge is Light

For all the students of knowledge (Ilm)

Knowledge Is Light

shakautu ila Waki` su’a hifdhi
wa arshada-ni an tark al-ma`asi
wa akhbara-ni bi anna ilman nur
wa nur Allah la yu`ta al-`as

The great Imam ash-Shafi’, he went to his teacher Waki`
Complaining about the weakness of his memory.
He told him, ‘abandon rebellion, for knowledge is a light
And the light of Allah is not bestowed upon a rebel.’

Whoa, I'm old and don't really listen to Nasheeds much (one of my sisters does), but Talib al-Habib is awesome Subhan'Allah. Do you know when this cd comes out? And where it can be purch'ed?

His "Songs of Innocence" came out a verrry long time ago, both with duff and without. His new one is out already and you can buy it online. But I don't think this one has a voice only version.

If you’re in the UK, I guess you could contact them and ask if/were they're distributing.

Talib al-Habib is my fav nasheeder, MashaAllah his words alone are very awe-inspiring. And these new ones about diff. aHadith are so striking to the heart/mind, and that's good because it's also Ramadhan and so it's counted as dhikr.

SubhanAllah...

Jazakallah Khair, I shoulda known it was that site. But yea, I have his first release, just gotta figure out where it's gonna be sold in the US.

Oh, and that Allah Hu track with the beliefs about Allah, along with some of the Arabic from Jawharat at-Tawheed is great Mash'Allah. So I get what you mean by awe inspiring.
